Ictus & Soetkin Elbers
Hymns of the night
Night hymns is a beautiful reflection on how music arises out of silence. Starting from a continually recurring emptiness, the musicians explore the night, slow as only the night can be, in a thousand shades of darkness.
The heavenly hymns by the 9th-century Greek-Byzantine composer Kassia of Constantinople intertwine themselves through the other elements of this nocturnal journey that resounds with their 20th-century echoes.
