The Oxalys chamber music ensemble will immerse you in the richly shaded world of Prokofiev’s chamber music. The concert starts with the enthralling Overture on Hebrew Themes. Then you can look forward to the combination of ‘certitude’ Toon Fret and the young, versatile and talented Julien Libeer playing the Flute Sonata. The apotheosis will be the sparkling Quintet in G Minor in which Prokofiev the accomplished ballet composer releases his dancing devils.

The musicians of Oxalys have been experts in performing the music of the late 19th and early 20th century for over 25 years. This English programme adds a few new jewels to their crown, and after you hear them played, you’ll wonder why each and every one of these pieces isn’t more famous.

Julien Libeer

De jonge pianist Julien Libeer – zelf ook een toonbeeld van transparantie, precisie en gedrevenheid – sluit zich perfect aan bij het Prokofjev-avontuur van Oxalys.
