A team of pupils from the Koninklijk Atheneum of Zottegem has built a musical robot. Under the supervision of coaches from Stichting Logos and MATRIX they went about with home-made pvc-whistles and found objects that were upgraded to percussion instruments.
With air valves, electromagnets and microcontrollers, these sound objects were then joined and automatised. Their KAZorgolos, as the kids named their musical tangle of wires and tubes, can be played using a large sequencer and can be admired as an installation at Transit.
