Night hymns is a beautiful reflection on how music arises out of silence. Starting from a continually recurring emptiness, the musicians explore the night, slow as only the night can be, in a thousand shades of darkness.
The heavenly hymns by the 9th-century Greek-Byzantine composer Kassia of Constantinople intertwine themselves through the other elements of this nocturnal journey that resounds with their 20th-century echoes.

Performers

Ictus
The members of Ictus are seekers: they explore repertoires that – this time almost literally – all too rarely see the light of day. They see a concert not as a collection of pieces, but as a creative search for depth. Each concert maps out its own individual route. All that’s expected of the listeners is to be willing to let themselves be carried away.
