The Dutch composer Bianca Bongers and Flemish composer Ellen Jacobs are the centre of a concert by a German-Icelandic quartet. This is the closest we’ll get to the pan-European idea at this year’s Transit. Two world premieres for the unusual combination of flute, clarinet, harp and percussion.

Ellen Jacobs

How intensely do we experience the sound around us? What is the borderline between the sounds that surround us every day and music? Belgian composer Ellen Jacobs (1996) tries to answer these questions by searching for the boundary between electronic and acoustic music and uses both to shape her sound world.

Bart de Vrees

Bart de Vrees is a Dutch percussionist, composer, improviser and performer. He works with acoustic instruments/voices as well as with new media such as electronics and video. His work is a continuous search for the integration or disintegration of music, sound, words, movement, theater, visual arts and new media.
