Een grote onbekende
Ervín Schulhoff
The Czechoslovakian Jew Erwin Schulhoff was one of the most versatile European composers between the two world wars.
From early on, he closely followed all the developments music underwent, from Czech modernism and French impressionism, the atonality of the Second Viennese School to the invasion of Europe by American jazz. Schulhoff interpreted all of these influences in his very own way.
In a series of double portraits, pianist Daan Vandewalle will let you hear both Schulhoff’s willfulness and the connections with his great contemporaries. Variety and surprises guaranteed!
