Superb concerts and an excellent setting
Festival 20-21 strives to stimulate the public's love for recent and new music through magnificent concerts and an excellent framework.
Every year, Festival 20·21 presents about twenty concerts, between the end of September and the end of October. The concerts reflect the diversity of music from the 20th and 21st centuries.
Each festival concert has a strong musical and substantive coherence and takes place at the most suitable location in Leuven (church, auditorium, theater, STUK...). A concert lasts 75' on average, with the exception of the Transit concerts which last about an hour.
The festival enjoys working with many excellent musicians and ensembles from Flanders. Naturally, internationally renowned musicians and ensembles are also regularly featured.
- The artistic direction of the concerts with music from the 20th century is in the hands of Pieter Bergé.
- The business management and artistic interpretation of Transit (music from the 21st century) is directed by Maarten Beirens.
