Instead of a lecture, this year we present a performance, disguised as a lecture. In Lecture about Sad Music, composer Matthew Shlomowitz, dancer Shila Anaraki and violinist Aisha Orazbayeva explore the relationship between music and emotion.

Do ‘sad music’ and ‘happy movements’ really exist, or do we only imagine emotions ourselves while we listen to music or watch dance? As usual with Shlomowitz and Anaraki, they’ll answer these profound, pertinent questions playfully and with tongue in cheek.
