Heleen Van Haegenborgh
Squaring the Circle
Perhaps you may have had a traumatic experience with maths at school as a child, and since then the number pi has only brought unpleasant associations for you. But there’s no reason not to like Pi, as Heleen Van Haegenborgh will prove.
With four percussionists and a generous dose of electronics, she’ll coax
some shimmering patterns and rich combinations of timbres out of the famous
3.141592... Squaring the Circle is her thoroughly sensual musical answer to artist
Johan de Wilde’s Pi; its multi-coloured vertical lines will be the visual backdrop
for Van Haegenborgh’s rhythmic variety and exciting sonic imagination during
this concert.
Percussionists: Aya Suzuki - Lucas Messler - Anita Cappuccinelli - Diego Saénz Mateo
