Séverine Ballon, Evgenia Brendes

Composer and cellist – the two activities are connected in Séverine Ballon’s musical research. Her work favours collaborations with other artists, as well as creations that connect her social commitment to her artistic work. In her work as a performer, she has privileged collaborations with composers, working in the intimacy of the fabric of sound.

After moving from Kazakhstan to Antwerp at the age of eleven, Evgenia Brendes discovered her passion for acting and performance. Brendes has also been a dancer and pianist. She graduated at the Royal Conservatory Antwerp and has since played in theatre groups such as HETPALEIS and Toneelgroep Amsterdam. Brendes also built a strong on-screen career, with lead roles in Problemski Hotel, Over Water and De Twaalf.

Annemarie Peeters writes, listens, devises and makes music. She studied classical music and anthropology and often finds her inspiration at the intersection between language and music – between what you can say and what you can only hear. As a cultural journalist, she enjoys listening to what musicians and artists have to say. As a dramaturge, she thinks along with many Flemish ensembles, companies and festivals.

Emilie Lauwers (°1984) studied graphic design and typography in Ghent. She sees the designer as a translator, looking for the right visual language for any given content – in an intuitive but structured way. Since 2018, she is the permanent designer of Festival van Vlaanderen Mechelen, where she designs the campaigns for Lunalia and Musica Divina. Drawing is her first passion. She illustrates children's books and draws live during performances.
