Ictus
In 1932, Kurt Schwitters brought forth one of Dadaism’s most iconic works, his monumental sound poem Ursonate. Just under a century later, Simon Steen-Andersen is revisiting this material, with Michael Schmid stepping out of his role as flautist to reinterpret the barrage of vocal syllables into a feast of primordial sound.
With staging, electronics and video, Steen-Andersen will make a total experience of it for these post-Dadaist (but no less absurd) times.
